Whats up first of all i love my v but there are some things about it that drive me crazy. One thing that has been drving me nutz is how cheap the headlights look. every other model have crome inside the headlight and ours are just flat black. even the mustang has color inside the headlights and they dont even have painted mirrors. anyway i wanna open up the headlight and paint it to match the car. any advise ideas or pics would be nice thanks

Unpainted headlights and itchy ballz drive me crazy.

Not to mention a lack of lambo doors ...

I gotta go back and look at my first post.

Question Re: (new to the site) has anyone painted their headlights to give it the vette look?

WTF? I guess people will complain about anything. My opinion (of course, mine only) is that they look great as they are........

That's what I was thinking... Odd... I guess that's why there are 31 flavors, huh? Can't make everyone happy. I wouldn't have thought anyone could really be that offended by the lights in our cars, but hey, if that's the worst thing the OP has going on, life's not so bad, right?

OP, I'd be very concerned about getting the headlights sealed properly after you disect them. Would love to see before and after pics.... Please post up.

Since this was post #1:

Questions like this one may actually get a non-heckle type answer in the regular CTS forum. This forum is a great resource for technical, and performance related issues.

As a general rule of thumb, this forum goes all ball-itchy, when anyone starts asking about bling-esque visual mods. Since there are so many standard CTS's on the road, if you want to ask about 22's, Lambo Doors, Stick on Hood vents, or a myriad of other related 'mods' chances are somone over there has given it a try.

Welcome to the boards,

Chris

I bet painted headlights would look 100% better then smoked. and its so custom! i know that a lot of v's have got head on hits so i think they should give me their fcuked up headlights soi can fcuk them up more.

HAHA, damn I love capitalizm, whatever the market wil bear.

As for being harsh, I was tryin to be nice, and tell him to take that question to the CTS forum, becuase he'll probabaly get a non BS answer over there.

I guess it didn;t come off the way I intended it. OH WELL.

Re: (new to the site) has anyone painted their headlights to give it the vette look?

I'm with you on this one QuickV. I don't like the grey color on the inner housing, either. It should have come painted black. That's what I want to do too. Gotta get a hold of some spare headlights to mess around with.

Everyone else, well, they're just a bunch a babies. Waa-haa, boo-hoo. Freckin babies! Sheesh! Lambo doors, fake hood vents, 22s! Please! Those ain't nowhere along the same line of modifications as something as subtle as this. Those scream out for attention (although that, in itself, is not what is wrong with it), whereas a color-matched headlight housing will go mostly unnoticed except by those that would be able to pick out something so subtle. Hell, why don't you all jump on those posts about smoked-out lights and clear fogs/markers. Go! Do it!

Even so, overall, subtleness will still give an effect/impression, whether it's conscious or not. But who the fcuk cares, I want body color-matched headlight housings. Jeyeah! Jou want some!

Don't mess with Quickie! He'll tear you up!
