Power Cable from the battery too close to manifold

Remove this ad
I've had the V in two different shops all day today. 1st tint, then Bang!
The car audio install went a little long though due to the sound deadner I had installed.
However the installer noted that when he was tapping into the power from the battery he noticed that the power cable going to the battery from the factory was extremely close to the manifold. He told me that there was not enough slack in the cable to allow him to wire tie it away, but he was able to push it to the other side of the last spark plug cable. He said that the flex cable had already melted. Well tomorrow's mission will be to find out which dealer I like the best to take the Caddy to.

I just wanted to know if any of you have looked closely at this cable. I know about 95% of the cars I searched had the batteries replaced, this car being one of them, wondered if the cable being close to a very hot heat source was the cause of these battery changes.

maybe... i doubt it ... if you ground out your positive battery lead to the frame the car usually goes WHOOOSH ... flames...

or at least smells much like burning...

as a habit, probably a little anal the first time i do anything battery related i always put heatwrap around the battery cables
