With only 1 hr of sleep b/t me getting off of work and getting on the plane to Chicago, I've just completed my drive back to Kansas in my '06 CTS-V... which now has 7110 miles on it!
The car was very clean when i picked it up and it's super dirty now. I see what you guys were saying about the brake dust! Theres plenty of it everywhere. Mind you I rarely ventured below 75, and was often in the 95+ range the entire trip home, I could see the brake being pretty hot.
I see why the radio buttons peel so often on these cars, when you're driving so fast and the adrenaline gets to pumpin your hands tend to sweat causing the buttons to peel.
The drive was great though, no problems at all except a very minor slight pull to the left But it could've been the freeway. I'm not so sure how comfortable I am legroom wise on long trips. I found my knees started hurting, I had to stop and stretch.
The biggest issue I had was there was just one key, no fobs & no NAV disc at delivery, Who ever the previous owner a guy named DOUG (from the radio) must have keep these items. So the salesman ordered them for me, I hope to have them by the end of the week.
I have a lot to learn about the car though, currently I'm trying to practice learning where the gears are. It's been a while since I drove a stick on a regular basis.
I did have my first run-in with an 335i BMW, I'm sorry to say, I probably let you guys down though (because I was having problems finding my gears) but he was pretty cool though. As I said I was really running and I ran up on him doing 90, He seen me in the rear view and floored it, then he slowed down, he repeated this process again and I was like lets go! He didn't seem to like going too much above 100 though and then we parted ways he took 71 and I stayed on 55.
With more practice, I'll handle business next time! Well, I'm in desparate need of sleep. I just wanted to let you guys know my buying experience.
