Done! Easy Breezy!
I installed my UUC Shifter, UUC Bushings and GTO Shift Knob/Boot yesterday. All went well no problems at all. A few notes:
UUC Shifter: Put the car on ramps, removed center console, drilled out rivets from top removed cross-bolt from bottom. Install was reverse of removal.
Replaced the rivets with bolts and lock nuts from kit. The shift assembly dropped down enough that I could get a wrench on the nut and tighten the bolt… all from the top.

UUC Bushings: While the shifter was out I slid the bracket forward and removed the old bushings and installed the UUC Bushings. Before I put in the new bushings I took the advice of others and beveled the leading edge just a bit and lubed up the outside of the bushings well… the rest was just leverage. I found it better to pry the bracket over the new bushings from underneath the car.

GTO/Morano Shift Boot/Knob: As I said before the GTO set up came with a metal shifter attached. It did take a little strength to pull the knob off of it …
…The hole in the GTO knob gets gradually smaller and the diameter is smaller than the shifter end. So the inside of the knob needs to be widen a just a bit it to accommodate the V shifter. I used a rasp bit with my drill and only took a little off. The knob still needs to be pushed on with a lot of force to get it all the way on. I used a small amount of silicon inside the knob before installing it but I don’t know if it needed anything. It is a very tight fit and on extremely securely.
As for the boot I just cut the bottom using the old boot as a guide and put it in the V frame and glued the ends down. It looks factory… well actually better than factory IMO!
(note the way the white stitching matches the seats )
Over all it was a relatively easy mod. And well worth the effort.
It feels like a different car…shifts like a dream!

Red face Re: Shifter Knobs

Did any of you remove the plastic sleeve from the inside of the shifter knob before you bored it out? The only thing left for me to do before I install the shift knob is to bore it out and I want to do it right. Thank you for all of your input.

NO... don't remove the plastic sleeve !
Although I am not sure how you would do that short of boring it completely out.
I am guessing you got the short metal shift rod out of the new GTO knob?!...(mine took maximum effort to remove) You really don't need to remove very much of the plastic material from the inside of the knob to get it to fit (you want it tight...real tight!)
The hole in the GTO knob gets gradually smaller from the opening so most of the material removal is towards the bottom of the hole (top op the knob) The inside of the knob only needs to be widened just a bit it to accommodate the V shifter.
I used a rasp bit with my drill and only took off a little at a time and then tried it ...but be careful… if you put it on too far it is hard to get back off. You just want to be sure to have it widened deep enough inside because it needs to go all the way down onto the shifter.
Keep in mind that you want it to require a lot of force to get it all the way on so you will be sure it is secure. I used a little bit of silicon (RTV) inside the knob before installing it. I ever you need to take it off it might be hard but it will still be possible and it won't mess up your shift rod.
Good luck... post a pic when you are done

Re: Shifter Knobs

Thanks for the quick response Rock. Yes, I did remove the shaft that was inside the shifter knob and you are right about it being had to remove. I struggled with it until I tried twisting the knob and it came right off. Hopefully, I'll get it installed today and post a picture.
