I mean mustangs do it all the time, and its not like we need 6 lugs for any kind of power issue or towing capacity.
if we're going to upgrade to multipiece or BB kits why not throw on some hubs from a regular CTS while you're at it?
i may be completely off base here, i'm still a newbie friday will be 21 days in the V-owners club |

If you're going to upgrade to a big brake kit anyways... they make comparable sized kits with better rotors and no rusty hubs for the 5 lug spacings
its just a random brainstorming session, i'm bored at work and wanted a good discussion.
I'm still feeling stickershock from buying the car so i'm not spending any money on anything like this soon
this gets us wheel options out the wazooh, especially trackday wheels (light and strong) for half the price of the 6 lug setups, now the poor f***s like me can afford wheels, no kwan for HRE's or CCW's right now |

Bottom line its do-able but seems unlikely you would save any money by doing this. Assuming you invested in comparable brake setup as you say, its likely to cost more than the cost difference for the custom 6 lug wheels. Not to mention it would be a bastardized setup that would kill your resale value. Assuming you wanted to sell at some point. |

I considered it, although gm states that the 5 lug does not have the same heavy duty hub bearing as the six. not sure how the lighter duty bearing would hold up, and as stated above, the cost probably would cancil the savings. |

Custom wheels would be cheaper than hub conversion + 'off-the-shelf' wheels. |

the brakes alone make it significantly more expensive to match the stock brembos is like 3100 bucks |

I will admit...it's a HUGE pain in the arse to try and find wheels for a V. I looked EVERYWHERE for my previous V and thought I had found some, only to be given BS info from a not-so-knowledgable sales guy. I had been told multiple stories and ended up calling the wheel maker directly for the official word...and wouldn't you know...they didn't make squat for the V. Lesson learned. Personally I think for the money, HRE's are the way to go...NO issues with those. Not sure how much a 5 lug conversion + "regular" wheels would be compared to 6 lug HRE's (~$1400 each wheel), but I think it would cause more problems than it would solve.

Just to add a different flair to your ride....if you want black wheels of course. Other wise....there are wheels made by.....hmm, I forgot, I'll look it up for you.
