I tend to agree. Maybe a chrome lip would offset the black better? Either way, sweet car!

I think the dull black makes the wheels look dirty. Maybe gloss black would go better. But, you like it and that's all that counts.

Those rims don;t really do it for me...BUT..blacking them out + the narrow spokes, makes the brake disks look HUGE. No missing the rotor's now!

That looks great! However, you can't stop there. You need to get that grill powdercoated black for a better match, IMO.

Re: Powdercoated my GM Optional Wheels (pics included)

That is a nice Mad Max looking ride. I would like to see those and the grille in black chrome. Has anyone done that?

Re: Powdercoated my GM Optional Wheels (pics included)

I can appreciate that everyone doesn't like it ... Black is my favorite color and it just doesn't do it for others ...

The grills are next though ... just trying to figure out what to do about the chromed piece around the grill ... I'm not sure you can powdercoat over that ... can you?

I actually do like it - as well as Chef's car. All that matters is that YOU like it, though!

Put up some more pics when you do the grille.

I suggest just powdercoating the mesh and leave the chrome pieces alone. See if you like it. Then, if you want, go whole hog.

Randy
Personally, I don't like the all black look at all. But, I will say that GM didn't get it quite right on the grilles. With the chrome surrounds and silver mesh on the front, with no other chrome accents on the V, it looks like Nelly wearing all diamond grilles. Too bright and ostentatious.

Instead, stock or aftermarket polished/silver wheels with blacked out mesh(still chrome surround) on a black V is purrrrrfect.
