2005 CTS V Rims Hey guys
Are the rims on our cars painted or powder coated?
Had new tires installed last week and they chipped and gouged every one of my rims
They will send them out to get refinished
Guess itís a good time for colour change from grey to raven black
Re: 2005 CTS V Rims regardless of what you're doing to them it'd be best to get them sand/bead blasted, then redone.
i'd vote for powdercoat. it's a bit more resilient than paint. Re: 2005 CTS V Rims Mine were just painted, but I'm not the original owner. I assume OEM is paint.

just wanted to make sure Re: 2005 CTS V Rims so what do you all think of the color change IMG_20140612_190057.jpg Re: 2005 CTS V Rims You need to get some of the black center caps to complete the look. Re: 2005 CTS V Rims was thinking about that but kind of like the look centre caps with the chrome luggs Re: 2005 CTS V Rims i dislike when the wheels are a darker shade than the tires. it looks wrong. i'd have leaned more towards an anthracite or gunmetal. Re: 2005 CTS V Rims The OEM wheels go thru a dipping process. And never sandblast an aluminum rim, creates unknown stress fractures, and can warp. Best thing to do is have them dip stripped. I had that done and then they dipped them in a type of primmer that helped the powder coat stick. Re: 2005 CTS V Rims Looks good ...get some tire shine on there ...night and day difference with this setup..
