    Re: CTS-CTS-V Hood

Actually, I think you could get extraction from the cowl if the hood was vented below in the front and channeled to the top with the exit being 6-8" from the edge of the hood. I would have to take some readings with a manometer and see what we get. In actuality, the bulk of the hood requests are cowl. There is no way we can get 15 orders with a split in design. Therefore, I would say to the heat extraction guys, get the specter hood and spend the time and money to tweak it. Its ready to go now. THe cowl hood is months away anyway as its not even started yet.

I need a count on cowl guys. Reed, the hood type is decided pretty much can you post a sticky to accumulate votes both the CTS and CTS-V forums??
If we cant get 10-15 I will bag the idea.

I have put in a request to SPECTER about doing a "modified" layup, adding CF or layers or reinforcement. Upcharge is not an issue.

I don't want something that is weak or just looks neat.

I'm in, as previously stated. Here are my prioritized objectives:

    1) Functionality-lower engine temp
    2) Durability-am not buying a flimsy POS
    3) Price, nothing on the V is cheap, and "you get what you pay for"

im in for a cooler hood. It would be real cool if the inside of the hood could be carbon fiber....

Its the front leading edges that need work, they are very thin. I dont know if Specter will alter their design as they already have a plug. Doesent hurt to ask.

Which hood are we talking about, im lost? One point, my tower brace (maggie) just touches the inside of the hood and I have no liner. The dimensional difference between these cars is amazing. Soo Im looking for some height. My maggie install was VERY tight. Anyone can handle this, doesent have to be me. Jimmy is the contact's name.

    Re: CTS-CTS-V Hood

I was thinking a 2" cowl with some sort of heat extractor. It looks like people like the Mustang cowl with extractors so something like that is fine with me..

Is that what everyone wants??? It works for me...

I like Blitzer's idea to have some sort of heat extractors along with a ~2" cowl. Is there a way to incorporate ram air into this hood design?

    Re: CTS-CTS-V Hood

I just want to dump the heat.

If I can get a SPECTER that is sturdy then I will go that route.
If I have to wait and the timespan is within reason, a raised cowl and extractor is ok to.

There has to be a vendor monitoring this board who can realize there is a nice sum of money to be made catering to the whims of this crowd!

Just give us what we want at a great price and stand behind it.
