2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V Appearance Mods Discussion, CTS-CTS-V Hood in Cadillac CTS-V Series Forum - 2004 - 2007; I e mailed Pete. Lets see what he says.
Here is what I had in mind for the extractor for ...
Did you guys see the post in the CTS Forum under CTS Hood? Vendor Pietro of Cadillac Motor Sport will buy up to four hoods!!
"You guys are absolutely nuts if you don't step up to this deal at $700. I have the Speckter Werks hoods and they are gel-coated and are $1400 first class products.
The difference between a finished gel-coated product versus a fiberglass hood is HUGE!! Also built in heat extractors.....HUGE!
Fiberglass for the most part in kit form is junk and requires hours and hours and HOURS of body shop refinishing, coating, final fitting and block sanding before you even shoot your first coat of primer!
That $400 fiberglass hood might cost you and extra $1200 in "prep work" before it's even ready for primer and still fit like crap with line gaps! Been there, seen it, done it and have the tee shirt to prove it!
Your getting a gel-coated custom hood with "heat extractors" for $700?????.....your absolutely crazy if you don't jump on this deal!
Lastss: If no one steps up to the plate in the next 24 hours to finalize the last 4; I will buy the last 4 to get you to 10 as long as I have some imput on the heat extractor design. PLEASE Email me directly at: firstname.lastname@example.org as I have some designs that I want to talk with you about. You and I have talked before about "partnering" on a project and I think that time may have arrived. This is a "give-away" at $700!
Those $300 -$400 fiberglass hoods can wind up costing you $3000 buy the time you get to clear coat with all of the finish work involved! At $700 for a gel-coated hood with functional heat extractors....your crazy for that offer! I would have paid twice what I did for my Speckter V hood when I saw the workmanship.
That's the reason why Speckter is the official manufacturer of the V-Racer for Cadillac. It's all about the quality of the product gentleman......you get what you pay for and at $700; this is a virtual steal!!!"
best regards: Pete Raimondi; Cadillac MotorSports, Limited.
Is this a gel-coated hood that we are buying?! I was under the impression it was a fiberglass hood. If it's gel coated all the better!
I'm out, after careful consideration of the following facts:
1. I've already sunk $_ _,_ _ _ into aftermarket modifications.
2. I have a girl in college now, and a boy to put through after that.
3. I'm not Bill Gates.
4. When I retire, I want to R*E*T*I*R*E.
5. For all I know, I could be in an STS-V next year.
My carbon footprint is huge.

sweet, i'll be calling tomarrow then. Hmm, iam interested in seeing what Petes imputs will be on the extractors...i was thinking about not getting them, but we'll see i guess. I didnt get around to chopping anything last night, i'll see what i can do today. BTW thanks LastSS, you da man!
What is it that you guys don't understand about not putting the air intake on the top of the hood. If you make a flush opening 3/4 of the way to the back of the cowl, it will work as a negative pressure (as in vacuum) point.
When you get this straight, I'll be sending my deposit.
