That white color is awsome but matte colors are expensive and really hard to paint perfect

Matte colors are no more expensive than gloss. The clear or clear coat additive may add a little cost, but it would be minimal depending on paint brand, the base coat will most likely be the same regardless of gloss/matte finish. Matte finishes can be a little more tricky to get just right, but an experienced painter shouldn't have a problem, just need to be extra careful about dust/debri as the finish can't be wet sanded and buffed. Also, white is pretty much the cheapest paint color available.

As for your color choice, I love the newer blue, but color changes get expensive and will not help re-sale value at all. Painting the door jams, under hood, trunk, back sides of hood and trunk, etc, is very costly and time consuming, especially if you want a decent job. 1.5 gallons may be enough base coat to do what you want depending on paint brand, but I have found that a lot of the newer GM colors require more than the normal 2-3 coats. These paints contain a lot more clear binder to suspend the pearls and flakes properly so it may take more base coat to cover properly.

    Just FYI

When my car was in the shop I considering repainting it tri-coat white. It would have cost $6k+ Plus like others have said... A color Change makes future buyers very suspicious.

Maybe I should have said this since the beginning but I'm a professional painter and the work will be done by me at my shop. Also matte colors base coats are the same cost but the flattend clear is about 150 a quart vs a great clear coat gallon at around 260. Also I understand that it may raise flags for resale but I have this insident fully documented and there Allways car fax.

What I would really like to know is if any of you guys think this color would look good on this particular car.

Opulent blue would turn heads ... no doubt whatsoever.

Love white. Don't know what others see in the matte look, though. That's okay for track cars, I guess. Maybe I'm just getting old.

I love the white as well, but would do the Caddy pearl metallic and not a flat/satin white. I will probably wrap my car next year with that or something very similar.

The opulent blue with yellow calipers looks incredible, I've seen it on a few V2s.

OP, I would also look into varying from stock Caddy colors and looking at colors from other vendors. It's cool to have a V1 with a V2-only color, but to have with a color no other Caddy has would be really cool imo. If you're going to divert from stock, divert from STOCK!

It looks good...looks like you did a first rate job on it but would i have done that to a car that looked as good as yours did? I don't think I like it that much but it could make sense on a car that had enough damage on it.

As far as being unique, I can't fault you there but seeing as how I've only seen 2 v1s in the last 6 months, being unique isn't a problem.

Two stealth gray repaints in one month....my car gets rarer and rarer...keep it up boys!

oops...just saw where you're car got keyed. that changes things up a bit but i hate changing colors...what a bitch.

Yea it was keyed bad it sucked specially because the car was super clean. But I do love this new color. True I've only seen 1 other v here in phoenix stealth gray but i will be the only opulent blue world wide v1 I think lol. It is a biatch to change the color since I'm booked with other cars at work but slowly working on it to perfection.
