You need to watch the Speed Channel. "Funk Master Flex" does radical mods with 20-22" wheels on cars. His usual comment with the customer's first drive: "take it easy over the bumps!"
Barely drivable, if you stay under 40 mph.
I do not believe the cts can fit 22s. If you are looking to run 22s, the cts-v isnt the car for you. Its a sports car, and its meant to drive fast-- any rim over 19" begins to affect the car negatively. Try a 300 hemi, or an SRT8, if you can get your hands on one. Those will run 22s, but, again, a rim that large will hurt your performance
I'm with oceanhut on this, 19's is ideal on this car and 20's is pushing it.. After all she is a bad ass 4 door sports car, and is best staying that way. 22's and larger are best for the trucks and SUV's in my opinion, but hey what do I know...
Listen to them!!!!!
I'm the dumbass that shelled out nearly $3,000 for a set of 20 inch rims and non run flats. I had it that way for one day. It felt like crap. Vibrated. Made noise. Horrible road noise. And the cornering sucked. Yes, it looked nice. But save $20,000 and buy a 300.
I took a loss on the wheels and am getting the stock wheels in chrome.
There are some wise people on this forum. I wish I would have asked them before losing $1,000.
I'm running 20" Momo Storms and I don't see any noticeable difference in performance at all.
I will say that I can't imagine anything larger would look good AT ALL. We played with the ideas and the guys at Wheel Specialists worked with the car and different wheels, and anything larger means you're riding on rubber bands.
Im running 20's as well, no problems thus far for me. I have 245's-20's on front, 255's on back Nitto rubber.. I have just a tad bit more road noise but not much & that is if i turn ac fan on low, no radio on... But B&B drains out all road noise on rubber after hitting 40mph anyway.. Now i would not go over 20's, that is just my opinion, because in a turn i can feel a little drag on the steering, us V owners can tell because we are use to it, anyone else was to drive it they wouldnt be able to tell the before/after in difference.
Also changing to 20's & adding Maggie & many other mods is main reason i can not feel a decrease in performance issues.
I am running 20" Foose wheels. No affect on performance that I can feel. I have seen 22's on a regular CTS but the V's brakes and offset are goofy. As well as the lowered stance. I dont think 22's would fit but you never know. They do make a 255/30/22 tire. I am sure that would rub though. The bolt pattern is 6x114 same as Dodge Dakota/Durango. Offset is high though +40-45. Let me know if you pull it off.
