Looking to trade smoked tail lights for non-smoked tail lights

    Hello forum,

This post is derived from my question regarding tail lights and if V/Non-V are the same. I have smoked tail lights on my V and I'm tired of being pulled over by the Highway Patrol. Please see that post here: http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...ghts-same.html

Therefore - I am looking to trade tail lights with someone who may want the blacked out look. Mine are painted, but you can see the brake lights and turn signals fine (even in daylight). I've checked this several times as one of my defenses against the law is that you can still see them from 300 feet. However they get me because the lights are "modified from their original design". I suppose I'm being stopped because in the daylight with nothing on they really are dark.

Before I buy replacements I wanted to try the trade option. My shipping zip code is 34772 and would figure it an even trade where we both pay to ship the lights to each other. I've attached a recent pic of how they look and can provide more upon request.

If by stroke of luck an interested party lives in Central Florida, I'd definitely drive to meet somewhere. I'm in St Cloud.

    Thanks for looking

If you don't get any interested parties you should consider sanding them down and spraying them with clear. Probably a lot cheaper than buying a new pair.

Thanks man - the guy at the tint shop suggested that too. I have a friend who runs an Auto Nation dealership and they do great body work. I'm going to ask him for a quote as well.

Saw this and came into the thread hoping they aren't super dark, but alas they are. Good luck.

I'm down but mine is my Daily Driver. So I can't have it down for days at a time. Is yours a daily as well?

steel wool, 2-3 hours per light, sore fingers , and paitience. Follow it up with a good buff and polish. That is what i did and it sucked but they look really good now. You use 1000, 2000, 3000 sand paper just like headlights if you need too.

What happened to the smoked tail lights? Did you trade them straight up?
