Anyone wire these to a switch yet? Would like to see how difficult that would be.

Just ordered these. I have fairly dark tint, too, so these will help!
I have to seal up the third brake light area as I've been getting water leaking into the trunk lid when the car is just sitting (yes, in the rain sometimes) so this will give me an opportunity to get to that.

What is the thing to do with the 3rd brake light? Is the guy who was doing conversion to LED + core still around or is there an aftermarket choice for that on its own?

Fuzzy, how did you get these in ? They are similar but not quite the same connector. I tried shaving down the side of the base on the bulb but they still don't want to click in.

    ----------

The bulb needs this little notch to click in. Did you change the connector ?

No modifications. Just force them in. The 7440 tab is a half millimeter thicker than the 3157, so friction should hold them in just fine. Before you close up the housing, make sure to test the reverse lights to make sure that they're working. If you hit the remote and one light doesn't shine, turn it 180 degrees and reinsert.

The picture does not show the intensity difference, but they do seem pretty bright.

Left bulb = LED, Right bulb = Stock Bulb.

Holy crap.... Those are close encounters bright... What are the lumens on those?
I think I just found my new cornering lamps.
How do they compare to the HID kelvin color?

    4300k?, 5000k?

The right one is the stock 3157 bulb. "a comparison" LOL.

also, meant to say I forced the bulbs in, but they still didn't feel real secure; so I put just a dab of JB weld quickset on each side of both bulbs. (easily removeable if needed)

They are nice and "white" so I'd say 5000k

The ad says 700 lumen per lamp and color about 5500-6500k
