I planned on putting on some carbon fiber trim inside the V emblems, but haven't gotten around to it. Maybe tomorrow? Its weird to do because the car's adapter i have for the cig lighter doesn't support my heatgun output.

    Re: Blacked Out Thread

Ah, I wouldn't have the issue--mine are coming out on their own. The V emblem inner plastic is separating from the body of the V emblems, and microfiber towels get stuck on the trailing tip.

I like where you're going with the black-with-chrome-edges, and what you've done with your grille. I would've colored the mesh by now, too, but the replacement cost is too high so I ignored the front end until I happened to find this plastic cheapie swap (I won an auction earlier today at $38.00! shipping and tax was $20something).

Still, I would want to keep the chrome on the front if there was also some chrome in the back like V2s and other Cadillac models with the chrome strip above the license plate. (however, as we all know... there is not).

(side note: the night before last, I discovered the red strip across the top of the trunk is a tail light... I think it looks sooo sexy)

installed the cheapie black ABS plastic grill, I guess I'll dip the lip... this week...end... maybe. I try to draw these things out, so there's less time between upgrades...

$38 link you know you want to

    Re: Blacked Out Thread

I finished plasti-dipping the chrome edge of the front bumper, and I just... covered the reverse lights too, because they're annoying enough that I'll risk it

If I find some legal, single-LED options for reverse lights, I'll go with those later.

I'm visiting my parents in San Antonio over spring break (and to renew my safety inspection), but when I return to CA I'm going to plasti-dip the white border of my license plates, including the wider, white bottom portion.

and also get the front windows re-tinted after the inspection

I want my calipers red. I'll take them to the shop that did my wheels. I would want red regardless of the color of the car, but it happens to work, due to the red in the tail lights. red/white/black is not a bad color scheme

    Re: Blacked Out Thread

Well I am working on doing some additional blackout items but here is a start

Car right out of the detail shop. I am going to black out the rims and put on black centercaps sometime this month.

    darkened back

I am thinking about the grill but I am still on the fence about it. Also the front fogs maybe as well.

Definitely going to be changing to 20% tint all around though! Between that and blacking out the wheel That should help some!

I dig it. Is your car lowered? I like the stance.

Yea the previous owner trimmed the springs a touch but I am going to change to the coil overs right away! I like the stance though and it does ride nice. I want to do the ground control kit though!

    Re: Blacked Out Thread

I finally took a couple pics. I haven't done much. Just the grill and the wheels but so far I like it...

I'm actually going to do a couple more coats on the wheels. It didn't coat over the chrome as well as I thought it would have.

    Re: Blacked Out Thread

I love that look of a blacked out car, that would cause someone on the street to say,"what was that??" in broad daylight

    -pow-
    more black, new headlights

not wanting to keep myself or odthetruth waiting as a result of my stupidity, I ditched a class to swap the headlights

somehow, i ended up with more push fasteners than I started with, but the bumper is more secure than before.

fitment is not perfect, buuut for $200, can't really... complain...

    Nice headlight \ grill combo.
I'm definitely snatching that grill up for sure.
LOL There was no need to rush it, but much appreciated yet again.

    Re: Blacked Out Thread

:-D tyty but oh my god i'm so glad i did

I went ahead and sprayed the lower mesh, which I was avoiding, but then said
"why not" while the bumper was off. it has a break in the trim along the bottom,
    anyway, so -oh well-

these halos... I've never had something make me so...

I buttoned everything up just in time for my second/last class of the day, and
it was dark when I got out.. oh my goddddd

within minutes I had an old lady flash her high beams at me. YESSSS

I love this car more than -ever- more than when I saw it on Gran Turismo, when
i caught them on the street, when I drove it off the used lot... this V has never
looked this good, not even new.

my partner in crime, and yes I feel so criminal driving by the light of dual halos...
I can barely see over the light of my DASH.

with the blacked out reverse lights, I have to tap the brakes just to catch a
glimpse of what's behind me-- and if I don't want to get pulled over, I have to
blend in with a group of cars

I don't even want to speed anymore. I want to lurk down dark streets and creep
under broken street lamps, and make people wonder...

    what the hell is that?
    WHOOSH
    what the hell was that?
