Not a bad idea, would be cool to fit some ultra bright LEDs back there or something.
    Where in NJ are you?

I'd also suggest re-mounting your oil cooler in a different position or run the lines differently, or paint the braided lines black... eyes go straight to it.

I'm considering amber LED strips like this : http://www.customdynamics.com/trufle...d_lighting.htm still wouldn't be DOT, though.

A thin, simple 6" wide set in a harder "case" would be best like the ones etcts-v put up. I might put the lights below the mesh instead of behind it

Re: An alternative to clear fogs ;)

I decided, instead of going with LED strips or anything, that the point was to keep it as clean and simple as possible. martinV hit on a good idea: use the little triangle lights in the headlight as a turn signal. They're the same 194 size bulb as the side markers. I had some amber colored bulbs, so I spliced them in to the existing side markers and just left the triangle lights pulled out and back inside the headlight assembly. Works like a charm. (I've got LEDs on the way to replace the bulbs.)

I also ordered 0.25" wire, diamond style mesh from http://www.customcargrills.com/products.asp?cat=46 that I painted black for now but will plastidip like the grille sooner or later. Crappy pics, but I can take more. I think upgrading to the LEDs will be nice.

Overd03 - I've never really gone to any local meet ups but would be interested. Jersey City is about 15 minutes from me, no problem.

lilgCTS-V - that'd be cool. I'll drop you a PM one day when I know I'm not working in the city the next day and I'll stop by hang out. Maybe a Thursday afternoon.

Like the idea of the corner bulb as the blinker. Since you have spare wiring now at the location, you could try to do a switchback. Auto illumination just put out a switchback 194. May just need a the steady spliced in.
