    Before & After EZLip

First, a little background: When I bought my V, it was missing the lower air deflector and belly shield. I really wanted to make it right using correct parts, I even special ordered the belly shield from the dealer....but I found that the holes were torn away from underneath the front bumper so the front of it will not attach securely (I haven't give up yet though, might try zip ties instead of the PITA push pins). So, I'm not ready to replace an otherwise perfectly fine front bumper, so I thought I'd try an inexpensive option for the other piece my V was missing. Here's before and after attached:image.jpgimage.jpg

What are we supposed to be looking at? Perhaps you could provide some description to go along with the poorly illuminated photos.

    Re: Before & After EZLip

Sorry for the poor pics, I was trying to show how this looks just in case anyone else finds themselves in the same situation.

The first pic shows my lower bumper missing the lower air deflector (the black rubber piece that's supposed to be there is missing, and the mounting grooves/slots are damaged & hanging).

The second pic shows the garage door seal installed where the factory lower air deflector would normally go. Again, I did this because the slots that would hold the missing factory piece in place was missing (like it bad been torn out).

And yes, this is the infamous garage door seal lip....I did try using the stuff from Lowes first, but the double-sided tape would not adhere....so yes, I paid $30 for the ~$10 mod, lol but to me it was better than spending $100 for another part from the dealer that may not be able to stay attached.

I don't understand what I'm seeing in the first picture. My bumper doesn't have a row of bumps sticking down like that.

Heavens! He'll probably have to take out a loan to make up that massive difference.

That's because your V very likely still has the correct factory lower air deflector; if you ever damaged it to the point it had to be removed, then your lower front bumper will look like my "before" pic.

I've had the front end disassembled twice. Mine doesn't look like that, hence my statement.

At some point some shop or dealer didn't replace some of the pushpins under my '09. At VIR, the undertray broke loose and was flapping away, creating massive turbulence. That caused the base of my hood(at the windshield) to flap about 3/4". I could maybe budge it 1/4" by hand.

Got underneath and ziptied up what I could and used pushpins in a couple other spots and went back out, hitting 150mph...

Don't bother. It looks terrible and doesn't function under wind resistance because it's too soft. You might be able to build up the area behind it with a strip of metal, but that'll be ruined the moment you hit a bad bump and scrape the front end.
