    Winter Wheels ANY IDEAS

I need to get a set of winter wheels for the V. Has anyone figured out a solution that does not break the bank?
    Thanks for the help.

I think the cheapest set of wheels you will find for our cars is a used stock set for around $500.

good luck, if you can find a used set for $500 buy them. There's some aftermarket options for about $950 shipped. I picked up a flawless set of the accessory wheels off this forum for $1k, and considered myself lucky to find them. I am using the curb-rashed stockers as winter wheels.

Same here - spent my $$ on summer rims and tires, and put blizzaks on my stock rims.

Check local junk yards. I know Vs are hard to find but I lucked out and picked up a set of stockers dirt cheap. Wish I could have gotten more parts out of that car before they crushed it. Owell...

You've got powdercoated stockers. What are you worried about?

I'm not worried about the rims, I just dont want the PITA of changing rubber twice a year. I've always had a winter and summer set of wheels. Its just sooo much easier.
I am worried about getting around in the snow! This is my first winter with the V

Buy a winter beater. Save your V from the abuse of winter roads!!!! I bought an 04 Chevy impala. Ugly as all hell. But hey my V will be in mint shape with no extra rock chips or rust from salt.

    Just my opinion
    Mn800r and Mn800r like this.

That is tempting, however, I'm not interested in maintaining and additonal vehicle or paying more insurance and finding a place to park it. for the cost of all that I can buy a winter wheel/tire combo to swap out.

Words of wisdom...by a winter vehicle, donate it to charity or something in the spring..these are not winter cars..would you drive a Z06 in the winter? Some people do drive them year round, but I don't see how its possible..I'm in Mn and drive in snow all the time, mine has only been in snow twice and that was enough..

This is my first winter with the car but I plan on driving mine year round here in MN. We'll see how it goes. Another vehicle is not possible for me. I have been through winters here with a Crown Vic and 2wd vans and the V should be as good or better than either of those two with winter tires.

With winter tires, V is fine in the winter....just a ground/snow clearance issue. if snow is deep or hit an ice chunk, ba-bye front bumper cover namely the lip.
