    Stereo Install

I'd like to share my audio setup... I wasn't planning on doing a system in this car, but I can't cope with the Bose... and besides I had my amps sitting in the closet for over a year... it was time

    - Audio Control DQL-8 processor
    - JL Audio 300/4 amplifier
    - (2) JL Audio HD750 amplifiers
    - JL Audio C5 Components up front
    - JL Audio C3 components in back
    - (2) JL Audio 13W6 subs in a ported enclosure tuned @ 19 HZ

I have some decent photos to share...

The Audio Control mounted behind the rear seats

The rear shelf cut and vented

The remote unit for the processor

    The truck light relocated

The amps and battery tucked in the tire tub

I probably should've mentioned that while the ideas are mine I had my buddies at a local shop do the work... Ive done my own installs before, but nothing this extensive. Thanks for the compliment though

Thanks guys... I'll be honest it could sound better to my ears... as well as the Audio Control cleans up the stock unit it still is lacking some quality at high volume. It may have to do with the difficulty of tuning the stock HU due to the fact there is no volume reference

A little bass heavy for my tastes in a performance car, but you sure weren't playin' around... looks good.

Lol yea it is definitely a lot for a performance car, but it's my DD and it needs to fill all the requirements (fast, good stereo, fun to drive). If I get serious about making it a track car I can pull the equipment and put it in something else. As for the bass it's actually perfect since these components play very loud... And I do have a remote bass volume if need be be

Looks great, I have one 12w7 I can't imagine how loud you are with 2 13w6's!! Badass

    BIG WORD OF CAUTION:

I damaged 4 amps and 2 signal processors by putting them in that spare tire well, granted I live in Seattle but these trunks are notorious for leaking, drowned my system twice! Cost me a lot of cash to replace so be careful. The sunroof drain lines pass right through the trunk and can come apart easy, that got me the first time. 2nd time it was a hairline crack in the rear quarter panel.

Thanks for the warning... And I'm sure your w7 hits pretty damn hard... I had 13w7 with these two amps running it and it was about as loud as this setup... I went with the w6 this time for a snappier bass

GOOD INFO!!!!! All of my amps and my processor are mounted in the spare tire well. Haven't had troubles but they are mounted on half inch stand offs.

Yeah that's what I did this last time around, built a shelf in there to raise everything 3" off the bottom just in case. Also put a small drain plug in if I ever have to get the water out and then seam sealed the crap out of the trunk, every possible hole, nook and cranny. I also sprayed the inside with bed liner and wrapped the drain lines in silicon tape!
