    Dull no more

We've had some horrible rain over the last 6 weeks...on & off...and my paint took a severe beating. So I decided to break out the Porter Cable and some goo. The car has Opti-Coat on it, but it's about a year old. I didn't need much elbow grease...just some Meguiars Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Wax.

Looks great! What pad did you use with the compound? How many passes did it take to correct it...I'm getting ready to do my 07' ESV. Thanks.

DRod, that looks awesome. Like RVC said, can you walk us through your process, the bonnets you used, all those gory details?

    Re: Dull no more

Thanks! I bought the car in May, and I did all the "complicated" stuff right after...clayed, compound, polish, Opti-Coat, wax...the whole thing. The car had oxidation and swirls all over (apparently it sat outside..not garaged). But for now, all I did was wash, polish and wax. I didn't use a very aggressive pad to polish it either. For this I used the equivalent of the foam applicator pads.

For the correction process (when I bought the car), I used an orange, grey and red from the above chart.

    I use a Porter-Cable 7424XP with this backing plate.
