Anyone run 285s out back on the linear course wheels, on a lowered car?

If so what tire type? Any rub?

Edit: nevermind, just read from the beginning of the thread. I like those wheels. Guess I'll read the rest of the thread to see where to get them.

Those are sharp wheels, I think I like them better than the optional GM ones. Damn sharp!

I like them too. I don't like the optional G.M. wheels at all really.

Looks like they're hard to get though.

So I don't want to read through the whole thread to maybe find the answer. But I'd like to get the matte black ones for my red v. Where can I buy them? Or should I just google and shop around?

I don't see that they have matte black, but here's a link: http://www.wheeldude.com/catalog/ind...th=457_458_460

Don't take this the wrong way... I heard these are made in like China or something. Is the quality sufficient for track days or is it a show over go wheel? I have gotten a little sketched about it after seeing a mustang break a "racing" wheel at Fontana last year. Luckily he wasn't doing 140mph around the banked oval.

Like I said don't take it the wrong way, I love the look of em and was considering buying them.

I was talking to my friend about the same thing. For the price the quality can't be that great... Anything that looks the same but better quality?

Its not the price that bothers me. The mustang I was talking about was running CORE wheels that are like $2500. I am jjst sketched about quality of wheels and stuff like that. If you break one at the wrong time you could get jacked up. I know it is totally weird that i am thinking that but like i said, saw it on the track, and it sketched me out. The team dynamics wheels are the same price and they are perfectly fine from all accounts I have read.

I've never heard of CORE wheels before, but I just checked out their website. I assume this is the one? I don't see anything even remotely close to $2500, unless he was running about 18 wheels on his car.

AFAIK, Rotas are made in the Philippines. Linea Corse is their "upscale" brand, so I'm assuming they're made in the same place. I don't have any of the old boxes mine came in to check that, and I'm too lazy to pull a wheel off to see if it says on the sticker inside the barrel. Anyway, there are plenty of folks that run track events on Rotas (including me), and some that race on them. The Turn in Concepts WRX and LIC Motorsports STI, two of the fastest Time Attack cars in the country, both run Rotas. What does that say about these LC wheels on this car? Who knows?!

I wouldn't want to run 19" wheels on track, anyway. The R-compound tire selection in sizes that are "right" for us is terrible (even worse than the 18" sizes), and they're quite a bit more expensive, too.
