One of the guys over on LS1tech with his silver V did some plasti dipping. I think everything he did turned out REALLY nice. I really dig it

re: Let's see if the plasti dip holds up

yeah I think so too. I never thought about doing something like that. The only thing he mentioned is to put it in light coats and not too many. Cause then the plasti wont blend as we'll with the regular paint

Not a fan of the blacked out reverse lights on silver, it makes them even MORE obvious. On raven it's absolutely necessary though...

    That.... looks.... AWESOME.

I need to obtain this legendary plasti-dip and get cracking on some projects here. Good to see, specifically, the results with the grill. I had painted a grill before and had that same issue, with tiny chips all over the place.

    Hmmm... Home Depot, you say?

re: Let's see if the plasti dip holds up

yeah. It's about 6-7 bucks a can. Get 3 just to be on the safe side so you dont have to go back like I did.

I would still recommend powdercoating for the metal mesh. But if you want to do the chrome surround, PlastiDip is the way to go.

plastidip is some of the best stuff i have ever worked with... i threw this stuff together i didnt even wipe all the dirt off or anything

i did this right before i left for lsfest and 28 hrs of driving.. the stuff held up like a charm and looks great like 10k miles later its perfect

this is the thread i made
