re: Let's see if the plasti dip holds up

I plasti-dipped my grilles over the last couple nights, but apparently wasn't too great at taping up the center emblem (lots of chrome left). Is there an easy way to remove the center badge? Almost looks glued or spot-welded on or something ...

    ----------

Nevermind, looks like it's just adhered on. Got it removed with a flathead screwdriver in like 5 seconds.

Vinyl on the crest and plastidip on the grilles. I like it, definitely think I am going to powdercoat it in the summer.

Has anyone used this to patch rock chips? What about covering the border of the headlights?

I've used it to border the headlights and black the grill. I haven't used it to patch rock chips on front bumper, etc. I doubt it'll match correctly.

Side note: I'm going to be sanding my wheels early next year. The plastidip doesn't seem to hold up well on the wheels above 130mph. The instant I spend a little time at higher speeds, it seems to peel off at the tip of the rim, almost like an unraveling. It may be because my wheels were already painted prior to plastidip.

LOL I get 1 long stretch every day I come from work where I can open it up to about 140, and the first time I did it, it basically removed a solid 2 inches of it evenly across the wheels. LOL

Damn. I got a chance to open mine up to 140 (in Mexico of course) and the next thing I knew I was getting a spotlight shined down on me from a helicopter. I pretty much crapped my pants. I then got my shht together and found the right neighborhood and alleyways to lose the sons of bitches. Scariest thing that's ever happened to me.
