new pic, I like this one. Plasti Dip on the wheels kind of negates the need for tire shine in my opinion because the clean dry rubber matches the finish on the wheels pretty well. There are many that would probably disagree, but I get lazy, especially when it comes to tire shine.

Use Turtle Wax Black Tire Coat.

Finally snapped a few of my wheels as well. I used the glossifier and the tires look dull without something on them.

How'd you prep them? I need to re-do my wheels and I'm planning on plasti dipping them.

Just a quick wash is all that is necessary. I had a bunch of baked on brake dust that was hard to scrub off...so I left it. No issues. I also had brake fluid all over the inside couple inches of the front wheels from my front brakes hoses failing...it took the plasti dip right off as you might expect. I just dried everything off and let it air dry, then re-sprayed with plasti dip and it looked and still looks good as new.

By the way, I wouldn't bother taping off anything on the wheels...a little spray on the tires won't hurt since it literally will rub right off. On the inside part of the wheel that sits against the rotor, you can just peel the plasti dip off that part when you're all done. I wasted a lot of time taping and it was so unnecessary.

Just though I'd post for the new ppl looking at this thread. It's been almost a year. Granted I put less than 10k on my car a year. It's holding up great! Doesn't even look anything different than it did the first day
