    Ground Control kit finally installed

we'll after having them sit for about 6 months, I finally got them installed today/tonight. I was very suprised on how low the back goes. I thought it was gonna stay up because of the self adjusting shock, but it is slammed to my tastse.

Couple issues I thought I would bring to attention:

In the rear, to get it where I wanted it, I had to back it off all the way, then back two turns and the shock is a little wobbley (this is as its on the lift) Is it fine because the car sits on the shock now that its off the lift? I'm just not sure if im supposed to tighten up the shock with the adjuster, or if it's ok to back the adjuster all the way off

Lots of little noises coming from around the car; I hope they go away. And also when I hit BIG potholes, potholes enough to make the car shake a little bit, it thumps only on the right side rear. And I did read up on the feffman and I got 1 7/8 spaceres for the shocks in the rear. Any Ideas?

It was dark by the time we were done installing it, so ill have to get some picture when I get up in the morning

Do you mean the springs are wobbly? The shock should be tight when installed but the springs will flop around while the suspension is unloaded.

As for the Feffman washer fix, I went with 2 washers per side to make sure as I've heard of sounds and looseness still with 1 per side. That may be what's causing your thump. Or maybe a loose mount?

Are you referring to the ground control system or the car in general?

Yeah what thebigjimsho said. If you jack the car up, the springs can rattle around in the perches a bit. Also, two washers would be better than a single one. In fact, as I recall someone mentioned really tightening down the nut on those washers helps to get rid of any lingering clunks while going over bumps. I need to give that a try as I still get an occasional clunk back there.

C'mon! Get out of bed and get those pics up here!

Except for the front rubber mounts squeaking lightly in rain, mine was fine...

Add T2 shocks and it's guaranteed dead quiet in back. Thanks again, Pat...

Sorry, I was at the station and I don't drive my V to work, so I took some this morning. Tell me what u think. Also with my 245-40-19 275-39-19 setup, there is only a Tiny bit of rubbing in the back, but not enough to ruin the tire or anything. Barley noticable

I couldnt get a whole car view, because of my stupid camera phone

Re: Ground Control kit finally installed

as for the reply's. Yeah, the spring is loose, sorry, not the shock when the suspension is unloaded....... Just wasnt sure if that is supposed to be so loose. As as for the noises, it sounds like it's coming from the GC kit because they were never there before. But it's nothing that startles me.

I'll try the double washer method and see if that fixes it. Only getting the thump from the passenger rear, maybe it'll just go away. : /

Oh and as for the polyurethane bushing's that come with it for the front. The black skinny round ones. Only got one with the kit. When we found out; the rear was already done and it was 5:30 and everything was closing. Ran amuck in circles around town trying to find somewhere that might have something, and we finally found a Offroad Warehouse store and they gave me an inner linning to an airbag setup. Pretty much the same thickness, but we just had to cut it to make it the same size around. Do they not check these kits? Was kinda pissed seeing as how it would be metal on metal without that bushing, and also didnt wana have to take the front shock assembly out again to put in some stupid bushing. All in all it worked out

    bigjim... T2 shocks?

How about a handling review or more driving impression feedback?

    ps
Don't expect any above and beyond customer service from those folks at gc. I offered them 250 bucks for their pos 10 dollar aluminum sleeve kit and they told me to beat it..

I've read reviews about their service on other car forums and it's flaky at best. It used to be much better in bygone years. I guess they've hit Fu money status or something.

Wcryan your car looks good.. take 10 paces back and take another one..

I let mine sit forver, and after today, I wish I didnt.......... I took some corners today and it grabs like I wouldnt even think. I was a little hesitant, but I let it go and it grabbed with my new tires like no tomorrow.

You loose a lot of body roll. The car feels like it's on rails.
