To go for Brand name or price

Ok, i am faithful to PIAA, and i see they have a D1S kit for the Low beams. But they dont have a High beam replacement, just regular 9005 no XS versions...

Now i have noticed they PIAA is 6200K, and at a little over $300 for the pair. Now i can find other brands of similar from 69.99 till 139.99.

Do i go with what i know, or do i go for the Cheaper $ amount...

My next question is who here has used HALO bulbs for th 9005xs replacement, or are we all stayin with the Sylvania 9005xsst?

    Replies welcomed...

I had the Hellla bulbs in mine. One of which lasted about a year. As a replacement I bought a cheaper set from DDM tuning for about $55.00 for the pair. They seem to be working fine, although time will tell. I've also just had to replace a ballast recently. I got one off of Ebay for $62.00. I bet I'm going to regret not replacing the other ballast while I had the nose off.

I don't know about HIDs, but for regular bulbs I've found PIAA to be ridiculously overpriced, and their advertising is pure BS ("65W but puts out the same as a 100W!!" ). I stopped buying their bulbs years ago.

My Hella bulbs (35W, 8K) were much brighter than the off brand ones I have now. DDM only sells the bulbs in pairs, so I was unwilling to cough $250 for another set this time of year. Especially when one of the bulbs only lasted 1 year.
