By the way, did you put the stock knob back on the KaTech snifter? I was looking at it last night and wasn't sure how to take it off - it doesn't seem to want to just screw off of the threaded shaft.

I went to the garage a few minutes ago to fondle my knob. Just an update on that, for those who care.

I sent TWM an email on New Year's Day about fitting a Big Type R knob on my KaTech short throw shifter, and they responded the same day. They even said they'd work directly with KaTech to ensure fitment. Now that's customer service!!

As I said in the beginning, their customer service is incredible. I simply cannot believe how someone is checking business email between 1-2 am EST and having same day response on New Year's Day. It's commendable

Even though I fear what it will do to my hand come summertime, I went ahead and ordered one anyway. They just look too cool. And I like the idea of adding some weight to the top end of my shift linkage for a better feel.

I wouldn't worry about it getting hot, so much as I wouldn't want to use it in below freezing temperatures. When I got mine from the ups truck, it must have taken atleast an hour to warm up.

Fortunately I wont have to worry about that here in AZ unless I get brave and decide to take the V up north.

I can only take pics of the knob. I probably won't install it untill spring, the car is tucked away for the winter.

I know! Who cares. Better to have a nice looking shift knob and a burnt hand.
