Yep that's it. Depending on how much you drive the car and how often you wash it, be prepared to replace that front emblem twice a year. I personally order two or three sets a year of just the front emblem and R&R the it the day of a Car Show. When racing, I don't bother.

If you prep the surface well, the black part will last for years, but... I personally order two or three sets a year of just the front overlay and R&R the it the day of a Car Show. I was planning on cleaning with a wash, then cleaning the emblem areas with alcohol, making sure no stray items. Do I need to do anymore than this or do you have any tips?

Don't use alcohol it may shrink the underlay. My recommendation: Once applied, never touch it!

The bottom will start to come unglued eventually, reapply with new glue immediately or it will stretch or worse - tear. When it starts looking ratty, remove the overlay, thoroughly clean the underlay, if its still in good condition apply a new overlay, otherwise peel it off too, clean your shield thoroughly and replace both.

Installed mine the other day, Love the sinister look ! I used Goo Gone to prep the shields and V logos prior to installing the overlays. I had to use a little heat ( blow Dryer) on the front logo to shrink it. Looks awesome.

Someone else had this on their car, but it was a slightly different design, just like the C6.R skull, iirc and the design was a bit cleaner, but for $20 I'm going to give it a shot. Looking at their website, which one did you get V for Victory?I'm assuming this was Crossed Flag Eyes not Standard Skull Eyes?
