So I called up UUC to get a shift knob and all they had left was the O-ring style. I was wanting the leather one but they are on extended backorder, i.e. no longer produced. The knob came pretty quick like and upon opening the box I notice the shift pattern on top has the reverse machined into the left side instead of the right side. Also the rubber o-rings are a little cracked which leaves me to believe that it's been sitting on the shelf for some time. The o-rings don't bother me that much as I can replace them, but the backwards shift pattern is kinda lame. I've not called them yet as it's far too late after closing. Any ideas of what I should do with it?
I'm thinking that all that they have in stock is all that will ever be left and I probably won't have a chance of getting a corrected one. I realize it's not that big of a deal as the weight of the knob is worth way more than a little cosmetic issue.
Does anyone have an idea on what I could cosmetically do to the knob such as machine the top off and replace with something?
It's kind of strange because all the pics I see on the forum and UUC's website show it as having the pattern correct.
