Re: DIC and A/C orange LED mod swap

I did this mod to a few months ago, really easy especially on the HVAC screen. However if you're going to do the cluster BE CAREFUL with taking the needles off. Needles break easy and stepper motors break easy (just plastic motors).

Here a link to my thread:

    http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...-feedback.html

I have a CTS cluster on e-bay that has extra needles if you need them.

If you have any questions on how-to's just let me know.

I was wrong about the cost of the LED's, $0.82. Shipping will cost you half of what the LED's cost!

    LED part number is 475-1138-1-ND

Re: DIC and A/C orange LED mod swap

The only hard part is popping those surface mount LEDs off. The rest is cake. (For the HVAC mod)

It goes from a horrible orange to a nice blue.

If anybody has any questions on the process just shoot me a PM, I'll do what I can to help you out. My cluster and HVAC are still running white like a champ.

How many LEDs are needed for the HVAC; 16?

    How about the DIC?

Re: DIC and A/C orange LED mod swap

HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) and DIC (Driver Information Center) are one and the same for a CTS-V. Are you thinking about doing this on a CTS as well?

The change isn't too bad if you have the right tools. Just curious, what are your soldering skills?
