Tire Decision Made...

I've been running Michelin Pilot Sports. 18,000 miles. Needed new tires and I began researching here and with those in the tire business for the past 2 months.

Everyone has their opinion. I really wanted handling performance; smoothness and somewhat better mileage or cheaper tires that last the same as the Pilot Sports. I have no complaints about the Sports.

Narrowed down to Hankook; Nitto Invo and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. The guys at discount kept assuring me to give the Pilot A/S Plus a try before the others and if I wasn't happy they would exchange, etc.

First day with Pilot Sport A/S Plus and my initial reaction is that I am really happy with the performance and feel like I didn't sacrifice anything by going with A/S tire.

Jury still out. Need to put some more miles on them and see how they perform. So far the V feels great.

Nice tire choice! What are you looking to get out of the tire? Obviously performance and grip will not compare to the PS2's, but do come with a nice milewage warranty! We get alot of great feedback on the Sport A/S. I run the Invo's myself and can tell you it is another great tire, closer to the performance of the PS2. I work for Discount and thank you for the business, hope you are happy!

Re: Tire Decision Made...

Did you purchase the tires for appearance purposes?

Maybe because the PS were about worn out, the A/S feel better already. I don't take the V to the track but I do drive it hard. The A/S Plus seem to be a favorite of many of the Discount locations here in North Texas. Invo's were close second. For the price I paid (209.00) per tire (matched the price I found online) it was hard to pass up on the Michelin.

Not really. Although I want a tire that does look good, it wasn't the first consideration. I think that the Invo is a better looking tire. I use the V for a daily driver so I am looking for combination of handling, performance and mileage are important.

I know some guys take their cars to the track, etc. and the A/S Plus would not be the tire for that. However, I don't, so the trade-offs don't affect what I am looking for in a tire.

Re: Tire Decision Made...

The only reason I asked is because you posted it in the appearance section of the forum. Good tire choice though!

Good question. I did because the Appearance Mods has tires, lighting, etc listed. Thought this was the proper place although I have read posts in the the other sections.

Maybe the powers-that-be would move if it's appropriate?

Found them online and sent the price (209.00) to Discount and they met it; and didn't even figure in the shipping it would have cost me.
