First pics with a few mods

Remove this ad
New pics....

Mods since I bought it:
*Baked the fog/drl housing, removed the amber, replaced with 1/4" lexan
*Silverstar bulbs for high beam, fog, and DRL/turn
*SMD Tower 5-LED parking light bulbs
*Clear corners, working on the 5-LED bulbs to fit them
*Swapped out the crappy tan center for a standard CTS black console for bigger armrest
*Installed a Cags skip-shift eliminator so I can drive how I want (no more 1>4)
*Ordered an 09 seude shifter, UUC short shifter, and new black floormats
*Most of the stereo is here, so I'll start on it once the pillars are done
*A, B, and C pillars are gonna be wrapped with black seude
*Headliner will be done in black seude sometime soon
*When I can park it for a day, I'm gonna have the tails, 3rd brake light, and reverse lights smoked
Trying to find a B&B or Corsa exhaust that's not overpriced

And a little project I started.....

Re: First pics with a few mods

Got mine for a little over $100 shipped on ebay. It came from LKQ online. Wasn't mint, but still in really good shape for junkyard parts.

Nice ride. How did you remove the yellow film tint on the lower fog lights?

Yellow film tint? Are you talking about the stock amber lens?

Not sure on the tint, it was done before I got it, but if I had to guess, 30%. On an exhaust, there's a B&B on here for $600, but the guy wants another $200 for shipping from Texas If you have one for sale, pm me with the details.

Re: First pics with a few mods

I didn't know Digital Designs made components...they used to be strictly about large excursion subwoofers!

Looking forward to a detailed write-up and install with pics!

Re: First pics with a few mods

Yep, they're amps are powerhouses, and still make pretty awesome subs.

Here's what's going in so far:
Alpine CDA-9886 head unit
DD M3A 2400W amp for subs
DD C4A 100X4 for components
DD DDA components, which are made in Germany
1 or 2 sets of DD coax's
Stinger 1/0 cable, connectors, and RCA's

I got the first coat of resin on the pillars last night. It's pretty sturdy so I may just go ahead and wrap them. I picked up some black seude and may do all the pillar panels in the seude instead of the tan that's in there now.

For the front, I'm gonna try to make some kick panels for the 6.5's that won't interfere with the e-brake. If that works out, I"ll use the front channels for the components, and the rear channels of the amp for 2 sets of coax's, 1 set in front and 1 set in rear doors.

We're a dealer for Wet Sounds, and they make a nice line-driver/eq/pre-amp that I may also use. It has a dual-zone eq for front and rear, main volume, rear volume, and sub control, all in a 1/2 din chassis like a normal eq. The line-driver section is 9V to help the amps out a little. Using this eq will allow me to turn all the coax's down separately from the front, so I can use them for fill only.

Re: First pics with a few mods

Wow, that is one clean V. Good work. I just bought the Lexan to do the drl/fog lights. How was it? I'm a little worried about baking them and screwing up.

H&R's and endlinks are on the way, then waiting for a member here to make the spacers for the rear.

It's quite the undertaking, but not bad if you take your time. Medium - large binder clips or flat clamps work great. Cut out the lexan, clamp it down all the way around with epoxy in the middle, then bake for a few minutes. I let mine sit in the house overnight so the epoxy would setup.
