I found this auction on ebay several weeks ago. I contacted him and asked if I sent him my fogs would he just do the work. This auction is for already modified fogs. He offered to do mine for an extremely reasonable price. it was wothit to let him do it... lets just say.
So for those who have interest, he may be willing to do more. I was happy with his communication and work ! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT |

I love my black V with clear fogs to see the HID bulbs and LED turns.. that paired with the smoke side makerers is tight.
Like I said he did good work and VERY reasonable (like half $) if you supplied your own fogs. He paid return shipping. Hell of a nice guy communicates well as to progress ! |

as requested...
The slight blur was because I did not a flash as I did not want to washout or catch it in the photo. The lexan fogs are CRYTSAL CLEAR. He left the outer film on untouched during shippng so I could remove at point of install. i prefer the smoke side markers.. I had clear for about 5 minutes and decided it made the front look too busy. Sold those on ebay and bought smoke ones... much better.

I'm guessing that guy's going to see a rush of business as a result of this thread. It's something I've been planning to do, but with all the projects I have on tap for my 3 cars, Lord knows when I would actually have time to do it myself!

Might want to change the thread name to indicate the right component being modded. . . The fog lights come clear from the factory. The orange lights changed with clear bezels are called Daytime Running Lights.

Remember the lexan is 1/8" the factory lens is thicker due to the refractors in side the lens. There will be a gap from the front of the fog to the rear of the front bumber. I will fill that with adhesive weatherstripping. He and i discussed using thicker lexan, but the concern was over time the epoxy may not hold the lexan on the curve of the lights and pop open on a side. We also discussed heating the lexan (cuatious to not melt or burn) to form the thicker lexan to the shape of the housing and provide thicker cover and minimize the gap. We both agreed that would be a cool project but wanted to stick with what he knew and what was most common. He has had this on his V for some time with no troubles. We even discussed using tinted lexan as a option. pre-cast tinted lexan is availabel online at a number of plactics outlets. That would be cool. - non-film tinted fogs.. eehhh ?
About the thread title.. you are technically correct, I just used what many here say... most just referr to clear fogs.. |

Way too thick, and even after sitting overnight and a short stop in the oven they didn't bend enough. I went back and used .80 thickness and they worked fine. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
