Any thread with the word "feeler" in the title has a 95% chance of going nowhere. |

It's really a risk/reward issue. With the current economic issues, it's no wonder it's hard getting a manufacturer to step up and take the risk.
He has to make at least 15 units before he recoups his cost for developing the mold.
We have tried multiple times to fill out a list, but it has never completely filled.
If someone really wants this done, the best way to get it done is to go ahead and buy 15 sets from the manufacturer, and then sell them to members, ebay, etc.

Suede feels so much better, looks so much better, and is better in spirited driving! a company out there on the intraweb (apsis) makes suede and carbon wheels for vettes but not for us... obviously we know why but wtf! |

To make this work the initial order is 15. I can tell you that if 1 person wants a shifter trim, and two people want A/C vents, and 3 people want steering wheel trim it's not going to happen.
The price for one off molding is high no matter what you make it out of. The reverse is also true. I can bet that if 50 people want the intake tube the pricing will be better than just 15.
He also mentioned he can do the entire airbox too. These give a real nice sound change on bmws. Of course the tube and full airbox would cost more than the FRCs. Check the GALLERY again.
Would we want something shaped similar to a Volant or more straight where it connects to the airbox up near the radiator? It wouldn't have the same exact bends because I'm sure there is a patent. It would be a new design. The only thing I don't like about the straight tube is how the coupler gets jacked at the MAF and has to create the angle.
Stock like airbox or something like LPE with an open top?

That's what I want done. I'm not interested in the whole shebang with box and all. That will push the price up to and probably over $500 easily and I'm not looking to spend half the cost of headers on shiny minimal gains. |

Getting the factory one pulled on or off is already a PITA, so I can only imagine how hard a solid tube with no flexibility would be.
Yes I know it's possible (because Volant and K&N already do it), but I'm just tossing out the reminder for people who are constantly working under their hoods. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
