Gotcha. I just want to make sure we can get this thing off the ground first. Looks like we have 3 and we need 15. He will become a vendor before they are produced or bought.

Re: CF Feeler Thread

Being that it looks like there's definitely more interest in the intake, you'd think that that'd be the one to start with to get the initial 15 required for the run...

Re: CF Feeler Thread

i'd be in on an intake 385 before seeing his work is a little high although it would be worth it if they look as good as they say.

That was for the FRCs.

I had discussed with Rjoffe that I would absorb some of the cost and knock the requirement down to 15 and sell the rest through eBay or by other means. I know that there are a lot people who have these cars and not part of your forum of any other.

The cost of having the FRCs done with the decal and clearcoated will be $385 shipped within the US. The recessed letters will be $100 more. Shipping will be done through USPS Priority so people will get them within 3 days of shipping. I know people will be anxious to get these once production is started, so I will push things along as efficiently as possible. Development time should be much quicker than the Corvette FRCs because my fabricator will know how to make the molds in advance as opposed to the Corvette. Turnaround time from development stage to actual product that can be shipped is highly dependent on the work load we get from other orders.

The quickest and easiest way for payment would be through Paypal. Funds are transferred quickly and a verified address is provided so it is safe for both the seller and buyer. Those who live near NYC can arrange local pickup. If you want to start a head count of those that want the covers, we can get things moving. Once we get enough people, I have created an account on the forum and I will send them a PM with details for a deposit. I will only be collecting a 15% ($57.75) deposit so people will be more comfortable without having to put a lot of money down before seeing a product. The remaining balance will be requested when the product is ready to ship. Once funds have been received, the customer will receive a tracking number for their package.

For those questioning my integrity on the forums, you can check S14.net which is a E30 M3 forum under the username "chutrain". I have also set up successful groupbuys on R3Vlimited for AC Schnitzer Mirrors in CF under the same username. I sell on eBay under the username "kwokcheec".

Re: CF Feeler Thread

sorry that was a little confusing. I was saying i'd be more inclined to pay for an intake tube cause it would be cheaper to check out his work before spending 385 on frc's. It was too early in the morning.

Re: CF Feeler Thread

Not to take anything away from the FRC guys, but wouldn't it make sense to do an "FRC vs. Intake tube: first to 15 wins" sign up sheet? Obviously it won't matter until pricing of the intake is discussed and CF guy becomes a vendor, but as stuckey said, it might be more popular and a less expensive way to check out the CF quality.

I don't know a thing about creating carbon fiber parts, but I would think making a 4" round tube with a 90 at one end would be easier and much more cost effective than replicating FRCs...?

Re: CF Feeler Thread

I have searched and found quite a few places who offer carbon fiber tubing. Most places offer it up to 2.25" ID. A few places offer it up to and even beyond 4" however, what I have found so far is that it's all sold in lengths much greater than we'd need (several feet, usually). What I haven't been able to find is 90 degree carbon fiber bends. I'm only intrested in the intake if it is one piece of CF, not just a straight CF tube with an aluminum 90 attached by a rubber coupler. I think that would look very cheap and ricer-esq. I am sure that if I contacted a few of the places I have researched, I could find someone to make what I/we want. I have been waiting to see what happened with this thread first. This CF guy seems pleasant and I'd be happy to give him the business (again, pending him becoming a vendor and pricing). I am anxious to do some mods to my car and a CF intake is high on my list for looks and what little function it may offer. Hopefully something will come about soon and I will be able to buy what I want through here. If not, I will make a couple calls/send a couple emails and I am sure someone will take my money. I don't want to become an intake vendor, but if that's what I need to do, then so be it!
