Not sure if it's true, but i heard that Chrome Calipers retain heat really badly.

Re: Platinum V with Red Calipers

chrome will not dissipate heat well at all. Thats why it is stupid to dress an engine in chrome.

The absolute best thing you can do to a caliper to dissipate heat and still have protection for the metal is completely strip it to bare metal and have them anodized. Anodizing will not hold heat. Even powder coat and paint hold heat.

Re: Platinum V with Red Calipers

That wheel combo sounds like it should look awesome. Please post pics when you get them on! Are you just having the lip powdercoated?

Re: Platinum V with Red Calipers

I plan on a gunmetal powdercoat on my stockers while retaining the factory silver on the calipers... combined w/ silver centercaps & chrome lugs on my plat V... just the right look for me

that pic of the z06 & Plat V does make me feel like wasting one in the hot tub tho

Am I the only one that noticed the tooltip for that smile is misspelled?

Or the fact that your nick is Wood and you posted that comment scares me

Just kidding, I thought it was a pretty damn funny line. It's late, and I'm over observant...

Re: Platinum V with Red Calipers

I can't believe there are not more people with platinum Vs and custom calipers. Hopefully we will get that pic from 814V soon. Other than silver and red, I can't imagine any other color looking real good. Black would blend in too much, chrome is obviously not a good idea, yellow would look ok behind a darker wheel, blue...eh, and that's about it.

I think a darker wheel with the stock silver calipers would probably be just fine......

Re: Platinum V with Red Calipers

These would look good! I sent the guy an email a while ago and these bad boys are very expensive even for being used. They are old race calipers. They have titanium pistons and they have holes drilled in them for better cooling. Along with the anodizing.

http://www.can-am-cars.com/productca...&idproduct=470

I would suggest just looking around the site. This guy has all kinds of old race car stuff. Very cool! okay sorry for the thread jack. And I dont know the guy either. They just have some really cool stuff that any race car enthusiast would like to have.
