Name/size/placment I tested the lights out... comparing the two LED's... the 57-LED is WAY brighter than the Eagle Eye Tower... Tomorrow (when I'm not so tired), I'll test the 57-LED against the stock incandescents and post pics... |

Does it fit without modification to the BU housing?

Name/size/placment Just to also let everyone know, I had the Super Nova 194's in my map lights and had a set of the W5W 2825 SMT Tower's that I was going to put in my headlights. Haven't gotten around to doing the headlights, so I figured I give it a test and put in the smt towers... I'd say double as bright and wider throw of light onto the seats. I also have the Super Nova's in the license plate area, and they don't light up enough nor look all that white. This could also be due to our NJ plates being yellow though!!! If I were to do it again though, I'd definitely get the SMT Towers for the license plate area.
As for the interior I went with the smt 2bulb superstars 44mm Festoon's in the rear dome light and both door courtesy lights. I think these are the perfect bulbs for this location. As for the trunk I used the same bulb and it looks good on one side of the trunk, yet the otherside doesn't get lit up as well. If I was doing that over again I would go with the 25 led High Powered SMT Array with the pigtail. I would lenthen the pigtail to place the array in the center of the trunk and pretty sure that would do an awesome job lighting up the whole entire trunk well. |

I used no jack, and did not take the wheels off. I don't think many other people could duplicate this feat. |

The 57 LED is "almost" as bright as the stockers... I am going to definitely go with them for my BU's
I did put the EET in the rear tail light... it looks just as bright as the stockers. I would like to see what a red one would look like... I wonder if Autolumination would allow me to exchange?
I tried the 57 LED in the tail light, but for some odd reason, it wouldn't fire up... tried it both ways (+ and -) and it wouldn't turn on... odd... |

... | Thanks for doing that test.
So the EET looked good in the Tails?
Did you try upper and mid?
A red would probably just be dimmer.
However, one may not want their tails too bright.
Was that your reasoning?
All your info is much appreciated.

Name/size/placment The EET did look good in the tails... it looked stock... only it was a "slight" bit orange as opposed to the stock red... don't know why, unless the yellow from the incandescent made the red lens look more red...
Did not try it in the upper... don't know why I didn't... I'll do that one Saturday night when I'm home again... I'll try to take some pics, but I don't think anything will show up...
I did order a second White 57-LED to complete my BU lights, and I ordered 2 Red 57-LED 's to play with in the tails... these are 3157's not 3156's so they might work a little better...
More playing to come! |

I have a mixture of ebay and autolumination bulbs.
Including shipping it cost less than $40 to do and looks great.
The footwells are pain. The best way to explain them is two metal clips that have a "V" shape at the end of them and the bulb sits in the bottom of the V if you pull it down. You basically have to pinch the "V" closed into an "ll" shape to have the bulb slide over it, then pull it back open to a "V" to have the new bulb sit in correctly.
I did no trimming and it fit fine. SMT 9-led model. Now I just have to clean the carpets more often b/c it is so much brighter. |

If I can.
I have the worst build possible and I did it with no major issues. I kept avoiding trying because everyone complained about it.
I wear a 20/30 dress shirt so that should tell you I have short arms and not anywhere near the skinny end of the spectrum.
The toughest part is putting the new bulb in the holder. 35 mins on the passenger side and another 25 on the drivers.
I am not going to say it went in easy but take your time and it is not problem.
Pictures to follow later. I used the SMT 5-led towers. |
