At least their cheap.

At least their cheap. | Alot of the cheap bulbs do that - I have to change out my rear corner lights now. Generally speaking, if they are cheap, it's not a deal - they will either die completely or start flashing within a year... |

Name/size/placment What have people found to be the best for the plate lights? I Lexus-style there.
Here's another pic of the backups in the background showing how well they stand out (they don't look that blue though): |

I had the same bulbs as you on my plate light but the MT plate shows too much blue for me, so i changed it to warm white. Still a difference compared to the stock incand bulbs, just seems much crisper and less yellowish. |

I would NEVER go back.. my 57's are bright enough that I never have a problem seeing what's behind me, and I have tinted windows all around...
The 63's are probably a little brighter, but I can't imagine much difference... even in your garage picks, you can see the yellow light bathes more area than the LED's focused light...
Now... on to the REAL problem...
Anyone find a solution that works?!?!
Brake lights that are bright???
Amber Turns that WORK? |

There's more pics in my build thread here: http://realfierotech.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=5947
As for the license plate lights. It is a little blue because of the MT plate design. I'll rock it for now and see what I (and the cops) think after awhile. |

Amber Turns that WORK? | Yeah, it's close but I think you're right about the stock being brighter. But I like the 'cleaner' light when backing up though. It's crazy how slow incandescents seem to light up now. I put it in reverse and instantly there is light. It's kind of weird. |

Name/size/placment Okay I've just read this thread over for about the third or forth time. What are people using for their front turn signals and front sidemarkers? I have some clear lenses to put on but am waiting til I get bulbs to do at the same time. |

Name/size/placment I think while back someone asked where you put the resistors for the directionals. I had to replace the cheap LEDs I had originally bought for the corner lights (the ones that shine out the sides of the tail lights) so while I had it apart, I took a picture of the resistors I installed to get the directionals to work. Before you mention it, yes, my car is filthy.
The heavy duty resistor is the anodized gold thingy below the hump. I drilled it and put a machine screw (actually a screw from PCI slots on the back of my PC) to hold it on. Also, while I would never trash a vendor, I have had to replace EVERY cheap LED I bought from superbrightleds.com and off eBay - the only ones I have had good experiences with are the ones from V-Leds, especially the pad ones. (the ones that appear yellow when they are off) I've had those forever and have never had a problem with them other than one slipping out of the socket.

So, I'm looking for a cheap way to get some LED's in the V. Sounds like some of you guys have a bunch of bulbs laying around from experimenting. I don't really care if the led's are the brightest out there, I just want them to look good. Anyone got any extras that they want to sell cheap?
Otherwise, is would you guys care to help me put together a comprehensive updated list of the best bulbs to get for each application (which don't require much if any modification).
Thanks!
BTW, i'm looking at these for the reverse lights. Any feedback? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/3157-...Q5fAccessories |

The SMP Towers seem to be holding strong in the triangles.

Name/size/placment First off, thanks to everyone who did the test/trial work on LED lighting and posted their work and results here for us to learn from.
Without kicking a dead horse here....I know there are 11 pages of info here and some of you have had some time to work out any bugs, try diff lights and such. Could someone please post an updated list of which bulbs work the best in which spot? I'd like to order some ( http://autolumination.com/) here soon. I don't want to have to modify anything, i'm looking for what would be easiest for members to simply plug and play. If provided by someone here, this new/updated list would be great in the FAQ's (if not already there).
Thanks!
