CCW owners look plz!

Remove this ad
Hello,

I just ordered SP550 for my V and decided to go with 255 front and 295 rear in 19s. I know some of you guys used this setup and just wanted to ask if it fis ok. CCW said it fine but i just want to get first hand feed back from owners. Did you have to roll the fenders or anyther modifications to make them fit?

thanks guys

I'm not sure, probably 35.

Re: CCW owners look plz!

I didn't have 255 front or 295 rear on my V. With the 245f/275r, the V still looked quite nice, imo. After I lowered it, i still didn't have any problems with rubbing. I tracked this car too and didn't have any rubbing.

I know you can run the tires you've purchased with stock ride height. If you decide to lower it, you might have to do some modifications like rolling fenders and such to avoid rubbing.

So just to be sure we're clear, you don't know what tire sizes you're getting, we don't know what width the wheels are, and we don't know what the offsets are, but you want us to tell you if they'll fit OK?

Wheels should look badass, I'll be interested to see pics once you've got them on hand.

Re: CCW owners look plz!

See in my sig what I am running. With my sizes (basically the size smaller than what you are proposing) I had to have a body shop roll the fenders and now I only get rubbing if an adult is sitting in the back seat of my car.

My opinion, go the size smaller (if you plan on lowering the car) and be safe. Even then, you will most likely have a very small amount of rubbing if you are lowered.

To be fair though, I had to roll the front fenders because about a week after I installed the wheel/tire combo I must have hit a bad pothole or something and the tire caught the fender and actually bent the sheet metal very slightly, so I immediately took the car into the body shop to get the fronts done. As of right now, I still have not had the rear fenders rolled, and I think that is why I still (only occasionally) get rubbing in back. So you might be OK with the bigger size if both sets of fenders are rolled, but then again maybe not.

Re: CCW owners look plz!

They will work fine as long as you aren't lowered. That's what I have. 295's on the back will only rub on a very hard bump. I'm running a lot of positive camber too so that increases the likely hood of rubbing. My fenders aren't rolled either. I would recommend Michelin PS2's for your tires though. John can install them for you there. I should be getting a commision on these wheels. I was the first.

Re: CCW owners look plz!

Let me guess,

CCW won't tell you what your offsets are?
He claims he has it all worked out?
You have nothing to worry about?

Re: CCW owners look plz!

AAIIIC,

I didn't like how the 295's bowed in at the top since there so much wider than stock on the ten inch wheel. Increasing the camber "straightened" everything out. Hope that makes since.

Shane

Re: CCW owners look plz!

I have 19x10 in the rear. Lowering the car 1" causes the wheel to rub the trailing arm on bump. The shop is working on a fix now. The rear suspension must toe-in on bump causing the wheel to come in contact with the trailing arm. At stock ride height there were no problems.

Re: CCW owners look plz!

Would 245/40/19 and 275/35/19 work fine with 8.5" wide front wheels and 10" rear wheels?

Mike (considering the move to 19s)
