I am going to order wheels right away, I have been planning on going with powdercoated stockers but had very little luck getting them for some reason so I am thinking of the Vogue CV-7 in the 20", or they have the 18" as well. Then I would have chrome wheels with the option to powdercoat or black chrome in the future, what do you guys think? Here's a pic of a fellow forum member with 20's.
Oh and I am going to spend money on other mods to besides the wheels!! Got a few parts waiting for me to install when I get home! |

IMHO, if you're going to go with the same look (only bigger) then don't do it at all. You're just slowing down your car and messing up the handling by increasing unsprung weight.
If that's not your purpose of owning the V though, then I think the 20s look good. I still think your idea of powdercoating the 18s is the best. |

Unsprung weight, rotating mass, vehicle weight and 19" max rim are all keys to maximizing performance. Unless you are more concerned with appearance than performance, then get the rims. And as mentioned before by others, make sure the vendor has size the rims for brake clearance (especially on the 18" rim size) and correct offset. |

When mod money is limited (which it usually is), it's always a question of "show or go." If your interest is the former, do whatever you want. If the latter, as Seattle says, unsprung weight is what you DON'T want ... do the powder coating of the stock wheels.
Personally, I'd save for a maggie, headers, cat back, StealthV tune, shifter, Hotchkis, GC, Nutz' rearend ... let's see, what'd I forget?
Ultimately, it's your choice, but you did ask what we thought.

Another member here had those put on his car by the dealer after an accident. I think they were 18's and the max they came is was 8" wide. Make sure you double check. Otherwise its your car do as you like.
