This is csp3000's car with 8000k fogs and stock low beams...in person they're similar enough that you could get away with it but 6000k fogs would match better. He still has plans to change the low beams....anyways on to the pics.

And one of both cars......

Interesting, what wattage are the fogs?
(increase from original?)

I'm pretty sure HIDs always draw less power than regular halogens, regardless of the temperature rating. Aside from the initial surge, they fall into a low power draw once ignited. Yeah, definitely lower in power consumption.

Do they require anything additional or can you just pop the 9005 in?

Are the new 8000K Fogs HID or just color temp adjusted Halogens?

Re: In case you wondered what 8000k fogs looked like with stock low beams.

I am so glad you mentioned that. I happen to have a set of 4300K HID's with 9005 bulbs sitting in the garage. Has anybody used 4300k bulbs in the fogs, and if so do you have pics?

Re: In case you wondered what 8000k fogs looked like with stock low beams.

I have a HID fog kit that has 5000k bulbs in as they didn't offer 4300k when I bought my kit.

I'll try to snap a few pictures later, but it looks pretty similar to the pictures above (maybe just a more blue and less purple).

Any reason why you're going with 10K on the low beams, as opposed to the 8K that you got on the fogs? Would of thought you might've gone 8K on the low beams, as well, to match the fogs. Just curious.

Tryna figure what temp to go with myself. My stock HIDs are flickering so much, I'm gonna get some new low beams, along with the fogs. I think I prefer the bright white slightly tinged with a hint of light blue (probably 5K). But, if I do go with HID fogs and get a new set of matching low beams, then it seems I should at least go for 6K. Just because ... I don't know. Or maybe an 8K. Or even 10K.

Sorta don't want the deep blue / purple look that you see old gen Camrys, Civics, and Corollas rockin. Looks really obvious and cheap. But then again, come to think of it, they probably are just blue tinted halogens, I guess. I mean, they really do look bad. Cheesy. They've got me all scared of tryin the higher Kelvins for fear of what it might look like. And believe me, you'd be scared to if you saw what I'm talkin about. But, you know, I've seen Jon's 10K / 8K combo (his pics are pretty clear) and they certainly don't look cheap or just blatantly blue.

I also don't wanna lose light output by going with too high a Kelvin. Even at stock, I feel like I don't have enough illumination. Kinda weak sauce. But Jon seemed to indicate that he could rock just the fogs exclusively, if he so desired, with more than enough illumination to light the way. Hmmm. Decisions, decisions. Gotta decide what temp to go with. Wheelhop, post some pics of your 6Ks when you get a chance, will ya? Thanks.

CSP, who you ordering your 10Ks from? Mark at TopPSI? Has he decided to continue selling the kits? Last I spoke with him, he was actually waiting to hear back from the manufacturer on the DS1s.

Re: In case you wondered what 8000k fogs looked like with stock low beams.

Here's some pictures of my 5000k Fogs and factory low beams. I also have 4300k parking lights (those triangle lights in the insider corner of headlight)
Sorry, no night time pictures. I just ran outside and snapped these

Oh and don't mind the dirty ass car.. Rain every other day is hard to keep the BLING factor up!

Re: In case you wondered what 8000k fogs looked like with stock low beams.

Thanks! I tried to get all the colors to match as I really didn't like having 3 different colors of bulbs.. The fogs are a little brighter (or more blue/white) than the low beams, but they're close enough for me.

I HAD to change the 195 bulb's becuase it just looked stupid with them in the dull halogen color.
