I orderded some 3 piece, forged aluminum wheels from a reputable source who assured me that they knew what they were doing. I won't say, just yet who this company is, but on their website they show several CTS-V's with their wheels nicely mounted. I asked for a set of 19X10's R and 19X9's F. I received them and the fronts fit fine (either in the front OR the rear). The rears however.....
The picture in the air is of the wheel hanging. The one on the ground is under the car's full weight. I used a block of wood to not scratch the delicate edges of the rim......The broom handle measures 1 1/8" (28.575 mm) off of the edge of the fender. It did not move inboard under the weight of the car -- DUH! |

I order to get a correct answer as to whether a wheel will fit is to call the manufacturer. They are only only ones who truly know. I recomend to all to do so before they buy them and ask the manufacturer about that certain dealer. If they say that their rims don't fit our cars let them know what their authorized dealers are doing. Not to bag any but make things right. We have enough problems with finding wheels let alone having the tires and rims mounted and balanced just to find they don't fit for what ever reason. It looks like you didn't get that far. just my .02
good luck

Someone would be getting a SERIOUS earfull from me and my attorney if they think they were not going to make this right. Good luck to you on getting this fixed. Can we at least see what rims you chose??? |

I am not sure what "theloanman" is trying to say, but I can tell you that these were custom made for me BY the manufacturer. This manufacturer said these would look exactly like the V's I saw on their website. He added that if I bought 275/30ZR19's and mounted/balanced them on the rears, the "look" would somehow get better as if this was some sort of optical illusion or something. At a very good expense, I decided to humor him and I bought a pair of Bridgestone RE050 Pole Position tires and had them mounted and balanced. Those rediculous pics are coming. They would be in this post but I didn't have my camera at the time of posting.
Now it just looks like rims that stick way out WITH tiny rubber bands for tires on them. My car is not lowered and these tires would look good on someone elses that has been lowered, I was just not planning to do that. UUUGGH!
Trust me. He's getting an earful every day. He offered to send UPS call tags to have them sent back for measurments and I'm doing that next. I'm pretty sure his initial offer of taking 5 mm off the hub won't make a damn difference!

I thought you said that you were buying them from a "dealer". Sorry for my mistake But that's all you can do it fight it. When I called the manufacturer directly they told me that the wheels would fit. The "dealer" said once the tires are mounted they wouldn't take them back! Well one rim in the back rubbed the caliper. So I had no choice but to buy spacers. Its good now. Well sorry for your problems. These rim people don't understand how rare our cars are and that some of us talk. So they are loosing a lot of potential business if they don't fix it the right way.

When Dreamin did his wheel-widening thread, he measured his car fairly precisely and, if memory serves, his measurements were well short of 10" in order to not stick out. Your rims confirm that. Sorry to hear for your troubles. |

UPDATE 05/2007 It's really interesting hearing everyone's most excellent experiences with wheels for these cars. Here are some more photos that show what the rears look like with expensive tires on them. Yeah, my double wishbone suspension really pulled those babies right in to the wheel well, huh? |

I was told these were 19X10's and 19X9's....well, so far they're half right. I am sending back the rears today with shipping paid by the mfctr so if they find something miraculous that will change the rears to look like this pic, then I will post a MAJOR retraction and thank them for the effort. So far I don't see it happening..... through the tears of frustration.... |

UPDATE 05/2007 I have run I forged on all my cars. I dont know how they screwed these things up so bad. Look at the silver one with Astra's on it, it's perfect. I had a small issue with my Viper rims and drove the car to I forged. Vince had it fixed for me within a half an hour. If your not dealing with Vince make sure you do. He has always been straight with me. I know how frustrating it is to spend all that money only to have to redo it. Modding cars and trouble go hand in hand. Let us know how it works out. |

Let us know how it works out. | Funny you should mention that I should talk to Vince. I am talking to Vince and he's been treating me like I'm an idiot. He doesn't understand our suspension in that it doesn't create negative camber the more you sink the car. He keeps comparing it to the Porsche 997's and BMW's he also sells to and can't understand why it's not correcting that way. He can't explain why "mine is so different than everybody elses." The most frustrating thing about this IS the fact that he can't explain what's wrong. If the quality and appeal wasn't so incredibly awesome, I would have told him to pound sand and take all 4 back immediately. The pics don't do them justice. They are nice wheels.
However, as I mentioned, they stick out over an inch. The clear the inboard components by over an inch. So why not just adjust the offset inboard by 1 inch? because then I lose my super cool 2 inch lip.....but somehow they've done it the right way before????
Anyway, they are off to see Vince with a note not to change anything until he contacts me with his findings. I suspect there will be nothing he can do. It will match everyone elses V and I am stuck going elsewhere for wheels. I'll keep everyone posted on the success here.
