Replace the O2 sensor, be sure you get the right bank, Catera is backwards from most... as stated bank 1 is the right bank.
You have to get the MIL working, bulb... whatever. |
Its got a misfire for sure. You can hear it as it idles. Drives fine but at idle you can feel the misfire.
As for the check engine bulb, I got it working by swapping the burnt bulb with the Air Bag bulb. (Temporary fix) I have no idea where to get those tiny bulbs with the orange plastic hex back. I took pics and will post em. If anyone knows, that would be great.
And when you say right side, that means driver's side correct? Right side if you are facing the front bumper of the car yes?
I bought a passenger side, front 02 sensor on ebay from a '97-'99 (dont know which year exactly) Catera. I can tell from the pic however that it is different than whats on mine. Still 4 wire but different connector and the tip of it is different. So that prolly wont work. But hey, $30 to try I guess.
Will have to buy a new one I suppose. Not sure if that will fix my misfire prob though
