Boy - GM really pisses me off everytime I read a thread like Mark's.

Mark - I feel your pain. When I bought my 2004 3.6 with 55k miles, I was getting 800/qt. Yours is the worst I've heard so far - 600/qt. This is such B.S. !!!

I just read on the internet that GM is going to split into an "old" and "new" GM and the "new" GM is not going to deal with "old" problems. You may want to scan the web for this sort of talk.

Absolutely get your car in and have those SOB's to get you a new engine under warranty ! Lord knows how long an "old" warranty will be valid !

I have since gotten my consumption reduced to about 1250 miles/qt by doing the Auto-Rx treatment. If you want more details, search on my "3600cc" id. I do NOT suggest you do this though - you should get a new engine from those GM bast%^&s!

I always wondered if there's a correlation between my poorly-sealed airbox letting dirt in, and the bad oil consumption. If you feel like spending 20 minutes and getting your hands dirty, maybe you want to take a look at yours.
