Re: Thread for DIY mods (Trunk Lift Support Replacement)

Remove this ad
Items needed:
1 Flathead Screw Driver; 2 Trunk Lift Supports
Time: 5 (-) min

Removing old lift support

Use screwdriver to remove the retaining clip from the strut by lifting the clip up

Remove the top part of the strut

Do the same for the bottom (or you can just pull it off)

Installing the new Trunk Lift Support

Lift up the retaining clip (DO NOT remove) so that the ends are not in the mounting hole

Mount top Strut to the Ball Joint (Clip should automatically slide into place)

**If your bottom mount is facing the wrong way, just stick the screwdriver in the hole a\and rotate it until it is aligned**

Repeat same steps for the bottom.

Voila No more trunk lids hitting you in the head

This is a easy DIY. I attached a pdf with pics.
