Re: STS-V Crash With Airbag Failure & Stability Control Failure

To clarify it was a group of smaller trees that i hit not just one so there were multiple points of impact but most of the dammage was done to the midsection of the rear door which was in the shape of a taco after the collision and to the lower body of the car, the front door midsection was also badly damaged (this is all refering to the passnger side of the car). There was no passengers in the car only me. However when i taked to a tech from GM he didnt mention there having to be a passenger sitting in the side for the side airbag to go off rather he said the angle of the impact did not cause sensors to enguage and activate the airbags which is crazy seeing how much damage the car took (final cost close to $13000). The information from the box indicated that the airbag system was fully operational also... Now that the car is fixed...I am a little concerned weather or not the airbags will go off next time something happens. my family currently owns 4 gm vehicles and we really like them all so i hope what their tech was telling me was the case....
