32.5 degrees of advance is one hell of a lot during acceleration - under high loads it should be down around 0 to 10 degrees -
wait4me is correct: the engine is unloading prior to a shift. Normal highway load should run around 34 - 38 degrees total advance, and some engines are OK with as high as 40+ (
not a Northstar and
not blown.....)

Too bad the old mechanical/vacuum advance distributors couldn't react that fast.........
"Pulling timing" actually refers to dropping down to
less advance than maximum for the given power demand, and it's done to prevent detonation under load.
.....just noticed that the throttle position is 30%, so the engine is not under any great load - timing will stay advanced for the most power under those load conditions....
