Its not you guys that are losing your skill, its the cars getting better. When I was doing some work on my Fleetwood I had to run 2 wires through the firewall. I thought, "Oh, this will be easy. I will just run it through the wire harness that already passes through. Just push some wires aside, easy as cake." Nope. The wires were coated in epoxy where they passed though the firewall. I wound up drilling a hole and then having to cut away a small hole in the nearly 1" of sound insulation (very thick, tough, nasty foam stuff) to run my wires.
