OMG sorry, but yeah, there's NO comparison. Unless that guy's '95 SDV was beat ALL down w/no suspension and the seat in the full upright tilt position and a broken motor -- there's NO way that generation Passat is going to beat it for Interstate ride and interior comfort. Properly functioning/non-worn out Deville seats from the '94+ generation are like butter.

Now, if you're driving through the pig trail twisties, then the Passat would be a better choice. The seats would have more lateral support, more responsive steering and braking, and it wouldn't wallow like an ocean liner.

But he mentioned "long trip" and "highway" in his post, which leads me to believe that he's talking about the former, and as such, high. I've never ridden in the current gen Passats which look much bigger, so I can't speak to those...
