Re: The STS is gone and I'm out almost $6K....

I currently own a 95 deville and used to own a 2002 New beetle TDI, given a choice on which to drive on a long trip, the beetle would win hands down over the caddy, the seat was more comfortable in the VW and the 45 MPG I got on the highway wasn't bad either, I currently have a 2005 Passat wagon TDI that is my daily driver, much more comfortable car to drive on long trips than the caddy

and the VW stock stereo speakers are much better than the devilles

now granted my deville is 14 years old and has 95K miles on it and I have not driven any with a northstar for any distance, but the seats in every VW I have ever owned have always been superior to the seats in any of the american cars I have owned (3 crown vics. 3 caprice classics, 3 dodge pickups, 1 ford pickup, 5 cadillacs, 2 of which I still own) a dodge dynasty, plymouth sundace, dodge diplomat and several others)

the only real "compliant" I have abot the Passat is that the steering is slightly to heavy on the highway, that "german" feel, somthing the new beetle did not have, but my caddy is about the same in steering on the highway, I miss the good old 70's overboosted, numb, steer with your pinky steering.
