| Re: The STS is gone and I'm out almost $6K.... I must admit (if there is still a need for), that was a really poor choice of automobile. Although I am fairly neutral with the bug, at least is not a Civic, Jetta or some Mazda. I can help feeling a little bitterness thinking on yet another person complaining around how bad is a Cadillac using the “believe me I used to have one” argument usually to an audience that never even ride in one. The level of engineering involved in a Cadillac is far superior to most of the cars, is the original luxury car, the rest are just aspirants.
Some how Cadillac and GM in general suffer of bad perceptions (this is the perfect example), and I have no idea how it ended up like that. Today the most reliable car you can buy new is a Chevy Malibu, is also the second cheapest in its class, the second most powerful, one of the best in fuel economy and the second best equipped (the slightly better equipped car is also the most expensive and pretty unreliable). Yet people are driving around in new Hondas, Toyotas and Mazdas (the last two being below average in reliability). That’s pretty bad for a stripped down car (there are not too many things that can go wrong).
I adore my car, is the car I always want to have, I feel very bad when some body had a reaction like “you got a Cadillac? Why?” I plan to keep this car forever; no expense is too much, it worth wild. |
